Former Belle Plaine police officer pleads guilty to accessing child pornography
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A former Belle Plaine police officer pleaded guilty on Monday to accessing child pornography.
Officials said 34-year-old Jared Daily, from Belle Plaine, was convicted after he admitted that he assessed child pornography on his cell phone between January and June 2020.
Daily resigned from the Belle Plaine Police Department in September after being charged with distribution, receipt, and accessing of child pornography.
Daily faces a possible maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, $22,100 in special assessments and a 5-year term of supervised release following the prison term.
