Cedar Falls extends mask mandate until March 3
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) - Cedar Falls extended its city-wide mask mandate until 11:59 p.m. on March 3.
The mandate requires everyone within city limits to wear a face covering in public settings when maintaining six feet of social distancing isn’t possible.
That includes while using public transportation or private car services.
Exemptions to the mandate are included for anyone who has trouble breathing or is on oxygen therapy or a ventilator, or for anyone who has been told by a medical, legal or behavioral health professional not to wear a face covering.
The mandate also does not apply to children under the age of five. However, Gov. Reynolds’ public health proclamation requires everyone over the age of two to wear masks when inside public spaces for more than 15 minutes if social distancing isn’t possible.
