CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - The cold front has blown through as anticipated and it’s going to be a cold one today. Wind chills will remain below zero the entire morning with actual highs hitting the teens this afternoon. Looking ahead to tonight, a combination of clear and calm conditions will allow temperatures to absolutely tank. Plan on widespread lows below zero with some river valleys possibly pushing -10 by sunrise Saturday. Our next system is still on track to move in primarily Saturday night into Sunday morning. At this time, 2 to 4 inches of snow is anticipated from Cedar Rapids and points north. South of Cedar Rapids, a trace to 2 inches is expected. Most of the snow will be out early Sunday morning. The next system looks to move in later Sunday through Monday and could bring more accumulating snow. Have a great weekend!
